Damn It!!! Massive Update

Ok i seriously need to update this so here goes...

I'm in CJC now haha :P
Life has never been better although the workload is much much more and expectations are higher, i have loads of new friends and best friends and not the shallow old ones...
Yay for life!!!
Choir practice is really tough and stressful but it has really helped my voice a lot and given me a lot of confidence. Although getting scolded by Mr Toh may seem scary and really leaves me disappointed sometimes, i know he's just trying to make us the best choir that we can be so i'll take every bit of scolding and work on whatever i need to improve haha. Not bad for someone with no musical background :)
School is frikin bipolar (reference here). Lecturers range from "mike-zombies" to "caffeine-crazed machine guns" and it's tough sometimes keeping up with the workload, but a consistent student is a good student so hopefully i'm consistent enough to be "good" haha :P H2 Biology, Chemistry and Maths and H1 Economics...
My friends are AWESOME though haha. 1T27 is a really awesome class with like everyone in the class really enthu and smart :)Though there is really apparent clique :( Experience tells me not to like cliques and to stay clear but i dunno... hopefully the clique won't be corrosive like the ones i experienced before.
Though i'm really like close to a lot of people in CJC, far more than i ever was in MSHS (except for a few people in MSHS). Yay for Bryan and Joson!!! :D
Now, ironically, i find that we need friends to get through life and there's like no way anyone can "lone wolf" through JC...
The Lynxes are slowly getting better :). A lot of them have really improved their voices since they started and with all the practice and hard work put in i know that they are gonna blow the roof off C13!!! Jar of Hearts and Circus are awesome songs to use though i haven't figured out where the guys can sing haha.
And finally, i'm playing my guitar more haha. Figured out how to use my bar chords now :) and some of my vids have a few hundred views on em haha

Lol Although i've not been officially posted to CJC yet, i've been going for their choir practices and umm i'll definitely get in to CJC Anywayz

Choir practice is awesome mainly cuz i get to learn A LOT of new technical stuff and some old stuff that i forgot a LONG LONG Time ago haha.
Also, i made loads of new friends, the closest would be Bryan and Olanda haha.
Though we only met each other like once, we decided to go out on the 2nd day of choir practice for lunch and a movie together haha :D

And i LOVED burlesque :)
Really Look forward to upcoming stuff and i guess that's all cuz i'm tired now haha.

Yay!!!

The RHYA Lynxes have been running for 2 weeks now and everything seems AWESOME!!! In just 2 weeks we've recruited like 20 people lols :D
I am seriously amazed by the amount of talent that is in RHYA and this is the PERFECT avenue to bring that talent out haha :D
Doing 2 practices, i've sorta learnt the group's overall "style" ie they do modern songs that are either very chippery like "love song" and "hey soul sister" and "i'm yours" etc very well or very melancholy songs like "your guardian angel", "use somebody" and "superman" very well haha...
Working with so much talent is tough but seeing everyone develop and grow, including myself, is really totally worth it.
Having a GLEE club like this seemed like just a fantasy but really it's developed into a powerful reality :D
In maybe 1-2 more practices, they should be ready to perform already!!!
The setlist chosen would definitely benefit them and showcase their strengths :D

- Fun and lively
- Awesome harmonies

- Beautiful Melancholy Songs

- Plus, they're both sorta fittingly about people being angels

- Melodious

- Very Powerful IF Pulled of correctly
- requires total concentration and melancholy
- Beautiful

But i think that Tik Tok, Grenade and Firework will work the best

Tik Tok is REALLY Fun haha plus it's very well known and catchy
Grenade had really awesome harmonies and solos and really meaningful lyrics
Firework is really the epitome of catchy and meaningful lol and it's both chipper and melancholy if that is possible lols

So... the Lynxes are gonna ROCK their first performance!!!
To any Lynxes reading this, please read below

Importance of soloists
- Soloists are the key factor that the audience builds a connection with and basically carries a song
- If there is a soloist, the audience immediately focuses on him/her and will remember him/her when they recall the song
- Thus be 100% focused and confident when you do a solo because a confident and focused soloist = a strong soloist = a strong performance :D

Importance of harmonies
- Basically a song would suck if everyone was singing it in the same way duh
- Harmonies are like the rainbow sprinkles and chocolate syrup on a sundae, without them it would look and taste boring
- Variation and practice make great harmonies :D
- so... just try and harmonise whether it be repeating the line that the soloist just sang or going a note or 2 higher or lower or ever going oohh or aahh would work really well :D

Beats
- Basically a beatboxer in a GLEE club keeps the timing of the songs so no one goes faster or slower that it should go plus the beats make the performance sound better
- tapping your foot or slapping your thigh or even snapping can help both on timing as well as adding to the performance's overall effect

Movement
- Basically no one wants to see a bunch of stoners sing a lively song on stage and they're all stoning
- Movement can come in many forms, leaning forward and backward, side to side, shuffling your feet, snapping and nodding. But it needs to be constant so the energy of the performance is maintained :D

Song Choice
- A good groups picks songs they like
- A GREAT Group picks songs that suit them and their group. Listen to the style of your group when you make song selections and try to think or imagine what it would sound like when doing them.
- And of course a great song choice can make or break a performance

Stage presence
- NOT ONLY the soloist is seen during performances
- ALL members are stared at and gazed upon so... you need to believe in yourself and your team
- STAY CONFIDENT and feed off the energy of the group and audience
- If you screw up, don't stop or act like you did something wrong, chances are the audience didn't notice or thought it was part of the performance and you have your team to help cover for you anyway :D

I havent posted in AGES!!!

A couple of things happened to me after the last post haha

1. O LEVELS ARE OVER!!!
Spent 4 years of my life prepping for this and now it's finally over!!! Woots!!!

2. RHYA Senior Cohort 7
I WAS A FACILITATOR!!! FINALLY!!!
Lol :D
I had a blast working with the other facils and trainers in the camp and getting to know the participants a lot better.
Shooting Bunnies, I LOVE YOU!!!
I haven't seen a group so bonded since... ever!!! lol
It's really incredible how much everyone has grown and changed for the better just because of a single camp.
Enemies become friends, Strangers become companions, Everyone becomes closer :D
The experiences of being a facil and a participant are sooooooooo much different!!! For one, you can't help them anymore if they're stuck cuz they need to learn for themselves. The only thing you can do is observe and talk to them if necessary. Aaaaaandddddd provide encouragement continuously!!! (Everyone needs that)
It was tough but true rewards were received at the end of the camp when emotions were really high...
Admittedly, i've never cried so much in any camp EVER. I was bawling like a baby at the end of the camp... more than the girls even haha... guess i really formed a strong emotional connection to the campers haha... bye bye mental wall

CONCERT NIGHT WAS A FRIKIN HEADACHE TO PLAN AND EXECUTE BUT IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUN AND IT TURNED OUT INCREDIBLY!!!

I WANNA GO FOR C13!!!
Umm for improvements i guess that i could have held back a lil more. Maybe my presence was a lil too strong and may/may not have relied on me a bit but i still think that they could've handled anything :D And maybe i could've gotten to know some of the other campers a lil more haha and not be so... backgroundish

THIS WAS UBER FUN!!!
RECCE WAS UBER FUN ESPECIALLY THE FIREWORKS
I got to go to universal studios for free haha from morning till late at night :D
Started off getting to know the Metta school people and bring em around USS in the AMAZING RACE!!! I was partnered with Danielle, Sharul and Fahkrul :D
My Group finished pretty fast (first i think) cause there were only 3 of em and they really enjoyed the theme park!!!
Then i had fun with the rest of the RHYAs in the Park!!!
I rode my 3rd & 4th ever roller coasters haha :D The mummy and dragon rides were fun but the dragon ride was kinda disappointing as i was hoping for more but the mummy ride was EPIC!!! :D so i rode it twice haha
The Monster Rock Musical was sooooooo fun to watch :) but Danielle didn't like it haha
Lots of fun and loads of pictures!!!
Bought over a hundred bucks worth of candy and souvenirs!!!

Debate update

I just got the adjudicator's report for round 1 debates and
MSHS lost to Anglican high by 4 marks out of a total of 1050 :(
so MSHS got 735.5/1050 and
anglican got 739.5/1050... so close gah.
And i lost my best speaker to deborah by 1 mark... out of 300.
I got 213/300 and
she got 214/300...

I'm Pumped and ready for round 2 next Friday though
cuz the motion is on

The pressure and stress of everyone relying on you to pull this off and make the CCA maze a success can cause someone to go insane haha
lol trust me on this that although the burden on you is enourmous, the reward of having loads of happy, eager new sec 1s joining is much much greater

As many of you (actually, all of you) know, school starts on the 4th of January 2010...
which is like 1 day away :(

1. Holiday Homework
Haha Since my computer had an unexpected crash, i have to redo my chem project :( and notes and stuff haha
Sadly... maybe fortunately... most of my classmates have not finished their holiday homework (what?) haha
Jia You to everyone that y'all will finish on time
PS: Like no one is doing the chinese homework for some reason and if you want to start doing it like today, i'll advise you to do other homework haha cuz you'll have to do like DAMN alot of stuff in 1 day cuz unlike the other holiday hw, Chinese homework must be handed up tmmr

2. Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
a) Canteen stalls are totally new :D maybe there's a new vendor :D
lol for some reason they decided to put up a muslim food stall in a SAP school... umm lol like all of us aren't muslim except for like 2-3 teachers who don't even like to eat in the canteen
b) Aircon in Hall for O levels :D

Sadly, i dont think my class will be enjoying it cuz we're Triple Science :( and we're like K haha

1. Study Hard for my O levels and do well :D
2. Maintain my friendships and don't lose any friends
3. Either learn a new instrument or get a vocal coach
4. Be the best leader i can be for my Scout unit :D
5. Facilitate RHYA C12 and Senior C7 (if possible)

Haha i really hope and will work hard to achieve these resolutions (or goals) lol

I think some people here are totally ignoring the singing side of the competition...
Sylvia's First 2 songs "mercy" and "yellow" were better than Sezairi's
However, Sezairi did sing his first song really well too and His Final song was better than Sylvia's ( Read the new paper if you don't agree and btw i was there live ...so i really got who was better) but his 2nd song was boring...
With that being said, Sylvia did do better overall but Sezairi probably won cuz his fans voted more for him ( Unlike a lot of Sylvia fans who just give vocal Support and don't vote )
Btw i thought he sang better than Hady did last night haha
Just buy Sylvia's and Tabitha's albums when they come out lol
I mean look at Charice, she finished 2nd in Philippines to a guy in a reality series like idol ( lol like sylvia ) even thought he was REALLY not as good as her
And now she's UBER successful :P

Haha i suddenly got struck by some random inspirational lightning bolt so i came up with 2 poems :)

Cold Blooded Killer

WARNING: This Poem is kinda dark....

Her teardrops fell like rain
upon the hardwood floor
everyone had left her
she was alone forevermore

the pain sunk in like poison
seeping into her veins
for all the pain she had caused
there weren't any gains

lying alone on the hardwood floor
the girl awaited death
for she had no one, nothing to live for
for everyone had left

her heart belonged to someone
who'd give his life for her
but that fateful night ironically
he did

her family had loved her
a princess in their eyes
their warm and caring smiles turned
before they met their awful demise

her friends' faces flashed by
in her bloody memories
their kindness returned only
with death with swift ease

a blood soaked knife in her left hand
a warm handgun in her right
with just a few slashes and shots
she had lost everything that night

Curiosity Killed The Bird

Lol i saw a random bird hit my window and got inspiration for this poem haha
It's basically about the age old saying " curiosity kills the cat " but with a bird
no animals were harmed in the making of this poem ( at least i think the bird is ok )

The bird crept up to the window,
tapping lightly on the glass.
It gazed upon the world inside
as a breeze flew gently past.

The bird tried hard to enter,
but all attempts were futile.
When suddenly the barrier lifted
and the bird met an evil smile.

A large hand held it tight
before it could depart.
Forever trapped in a cage,
immortalized as living art.

How it wished,
bending it's beak to pray,

My Experience for RHYA Senior Camp Cohort 6
First off, I’d like to say that I’m super, ultra, mega, incredibly, uber proud to have been part of C6 with all my RHYA Friends :D Thanks to all of you!!!
Ahem, so I’m going to post my Camp Experience in this note. Enjoy hahaha…
Lol a random note before this….. I originally intended to type this out in compo format but it was WAY too long so I’ll do it in point form
Day 1
Arrived at MRT early
Played Tap Tap with Sean, Iskandar, Mimi and Lycia
Said a plethora of different “hi” s
Boarded the Bus to NACLI
Played Tap Tap with Malvick
Arrived
Made name tags and gave out stars to everyone :D
Group identity : Pepsi Quack
Elected as Leader
Lol I was the only guy from C11’s red hot chilli peppers there haha

Umm my group had lots of serious problems during the skit, fashion show and game… but we managed to pull through
The skit was Uber funny umm not really through plot but more through our mistakes and bad acting haha OMGosh the Cheongsam line from Didi was the BOMB!!! And the “because I’m Indian!!!” line from Joshua was hilarious
Game was kinda badly received cause most of the people didn’t want to dance…
Prior to the fashion show there was kinda an internal meltdown but it was really well done and we won !!! good job guys and the makeup was good haha
DANCE TIME!!! But sadly, again like my game, no one really wanted to dance. But the parts that people did dance were fun and I got to dance haha.

Reflections for RHYA Senior Camp C6

Reflection Time!!!
Oh gosh where do I start…

Ok, Skills I’ve learnt about myself and generally
1. Besides the fact that I can lead well ( which I already knew ) I really got something new out of this camp about myself in terms of leadership.
2. It is that I can’t lead everyone and make everyone happy all the time there will always be disagreements because people think differently and these can cause a group to fall apart.
3. The true test of a great leader is to turn these disagreements into a positive thing or at least reach a compromise and not let it get ugly.
4. Also, I have learnt to trust the members in my team as without trust there will be major arguments and people would want to do everything by themselves. This causes a group to go haywire. Thus, Trust is vital.
5. I have also learnt to take the initiative and not just be shy and let someone else do it. At times when no one wants to do it, a good leader would step up and light the way for the team. Even if he gets burned, he must hold the candle to light the way for others to see.
6. Miscommunications can kill a group
7. Sometimes, it is better to go with the group and follow their idea instead of your own
8. Step back for a moment and look at the big picture
9. Good leaders delegate and not multi task everything by themselves ( it is not my camp or your camp, it is our camp – Zack )
10. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses.
11. A good leader uses his team’s strengths and makes up for their weaknesses
12. Cheer, Motivate, Smile and Say “ Good Job “ even if everyone else is sulking. A good leader motivates his team even if they think he’s insane
13. Believe in your team. It’s natural for a person to think that he’s superior to everyone else, that’s human nature. But a good leader overcomes this and believes in his team and utilizes their full potential.
14. Mistakes are bound to happen. A true test of adaptability is fixing and learning from them.
15. A small effort goes a long way even though it may seem unappreciated.
16. Helping others doesn’t always help you but if it’s the right thing to do, go for it!!!
17. Self Confidence
18. No one is perfect. Especially me

Things I’ve learnt about others
1. Mimi and Sean may be small but they are 2 of the best motivators and leaders I’ve ever met.
2. Lydia had an incredibly loud and clear voice and a big heart
3. Sheryl Owns at musical chairs
4. Danielle doubts herself too much. YOU CAN DO IT!!! Have confidence in yourself and you will soar!!!
5. The Ah Brothers were apparently dead for some reason during the last day
6. Keith and Fakhrul together are 10x more powerful than apart
7. Never bet with Keyan, you’ll lose
8. For some reason, most of C6 don’t like to club dance during YAs Night (but of course they love to on their own)( lol my group should’ve done like blindfold dancing then everyone would’ve danced haha )
9. Louis is funnier than most comedians
10. Brennen apparently bet $5 with Sharmane that she wouldn’t say his name for 24h and lost
11. Xiaoyin is apparently dating again…
12. I LOVE YOU ALL C6. Everyone has their own unique traits, strengths and weaknesses that I’ll remember forever !!! See Ya’ll on the 10th of December for Paintball :D

Final Word: This Camp was one of the best I’ve had. I have not just enjoyed myself tremendously, but also really learnt useful skills that I’ll use forever. Though my experience leading Pepsi Quack I have gained a huge amount of skills and if you didn’t like my leadership style or if you’ve disagreed with my ideas then I’m really sorry. Thank you Everyone in C6, campers, facils, OICs, Advisors, Trainers for making this such an incredible Camp!!!

Gemini (May 22 to June 22) is a double sign and a certain duality is apparent in the pure Geminean.

Last Saturday, i went to see the Idol top 4 at Ngee Ann City :D
The roadshow was kinda packed when i got there lol
Listened to them speak for awhile
then they went for phototaking

my mom followed me cause none of my friends (thanks a lot guys/girls) were free and she suggested going closer to the entrance to meet them up close (closer)
Suddenly, when we were at the entrance, they turned and walked like practically in front of us so i whipped out my iphone and snapped these Uber clear photos of the idols lol!!!

Insect Facts " Toxorhynchites " and "Dragonflies"

As Ya'll Probably know, i'm a big flying insect hater
HOWEVER, There are some flying insects that i don't hate at all
the " Toxorhynchites " and "Dragonflies"

Here are some interesting facts about them

Toxorhynchites(Mosquito Eaters)
Don't squish these if you see them

Toxorhynchites, also known as mosquito hawks or mosquito eaters, are a cosmopolitan genus and one of the few kinds of mosquito that do not suck blood.
Rather, the adults subsist on nectar and other natural carbohydrates.
Their larvae prey on the larvae of other mosquitoes.

The name apparently comes from the Greek toxo meaning arrow and rhynch meaning snout.

Most species occur in forests.
The larvae of one jungle variety, Toxorhynchites splendens, consume larvae of other mosquito species occurring in tree crevices, particularly Aedes aegypti.
The adults of these mosquitoes are larger than Aedes and are harmless to humans.

Disease vector or toxin control researchers have suggested that Toxorhynchites mosquitoes be introduced to areas outside their natural range in order to fight dengue fever.

FYI in case anyone caught one of these and are frantically scratching their head, thinking of how to feed it.

Dragonflies specialize in different kinds of hunting techniques.

The larva stage is characterized by three basic strategies.
-Some stalk their prey in vegetation (climbers).
-Others lie in the mud and debris at the bottom of a pond and wait for prey (sprawlers).
-One species burrows itself completely in the mud (burrower).
-While the prey of the larvae is mostly other aquatic insects, some of the larger nymphs attack tadpoles and small fish.

The adult dragonfly is a formidable hunting insect.
Incredibly agile, it uses the basket formed by its legs to catch insects on the fly.
It eats mainly mosquitoes, midges, and other small flying insects.

The lesson here: DON'T KEEP DRAGONFLIES!!! LET THEM FLY FREE !!!

Day 1
Woke up early
Wore Contacts for this camp
Dad saw me with my big bag, grabbed it from me and repacked it into the luggage bag
Got into car, mum fetched me to OnePeople*sg
Met up with Sheryl, Esther and Keyan
Registered and corrected the wrong spelling of my name lol
Was the 4th person in my group there ( Royden, Umairah and Suhailah were there before me )
Did a few introductions and took charge
Rest of the group arrived
Facils arrived
Did some more intro stuff and some games
Said that i wouldn't reveal my school ( since i was representing South-East CDC )
got everyone's phone numbers
made friends with krishnam and royden
went to hall for a talk and some handshake game ( Milking cows lol )
Elected as leader ( so fast lol )
ate lunch ( boxed nasi lemak )
Ate with Chea Yee ( from North-West CDC )
Left for Campsite ( Lugged my luggage around (damn regret bringing it) )

I only told everyone around the 6-7th attempt that there were missing plates to move things along
by then it was too late lol
but it was fun
went and got some youth wing presentation
lol im already part of South East CDC's RHYA Publicity team so i decided not to join
mini planning thing
i decided to let the girls in front lead cause it wasn't that important ( big mistake )
we ended up not finishing our planning at all...
5 minutes before we were about to present, me and umairah quickly redid the whole plan and wrote it out neatly and according to format on the paper so we could present lol.

Had a dialogue in the 16 degrees celcius auditorium... ( i was sitting next to Chea Yee )
Left auditorium to go to classroom for more dialogue
Used my general debating knowledge to answer most of the theoretical qns
realised that everyone was racist ( including me )
went back into fridge ( i mean hall )
Sat on plastic chair next to Chea Yee :)
Prof. C. Kunalan talked and i really liked his speech lol
people sitting on floor next to us and i really wanted to give up my seat but i didn't ( waaa i'm so ashamed )
Was asked to go up on stage ( luckily they didn't need me last minute )
Lunch was UBER delicious
Went to YOG Learning centre
Sat outside before playing with a ball and markers
lol my jeans got dirty ( though i cleaned them up eventually )
planning for Campfire Item ( wasn't really involved )
( Toured around YOG Learning Centre after talk and watching the YOG video AGAIN after sooooooooooooooooo many times )

While everyone else had supper ( i missed supper again ), me and rafidah were waiting in the room for our turn to present ( Bonded with group 10 people ( Rahmat, Ariel and Dominic ) )
Finally it was our turn at 12.15 the next day...
Presented very fast cause our plan was detailed but i think it kinda lacked oomph or attractiveness/ uniqueness
Went back to Bunk and fell asleep pretty late
Royden kept rolling on me randomly for some reason

Day 3
Missed NACLI again
Woke up and put on contacts
Breakfast was nice :) ( Royden kept telling everyone it was nasi lemak but when he sat it wasn't, he was like... wtfish )
took bus to buddist temple ( Haha the other group had to dragonboat 1st and drag all their heavy clothes everywhere and got no chartered bus 4 them )
walked around with Chea Yee, Royden, Kerin, Zengxin, Nitta, Wenyu and Jun Yin trying to find answers.
Paired with Chea Yee and read through buddhist books
Realised that we couldn't find answers
Realised towards the end that there were more floors... lol
Went to second floor
No answers...
Royden and Zengxin bought windchimes and i bought some pink guava drink.
Went down
realised again that we were supposed to go to the 3rd floor ... (museum)
oh...
ran to third floor and rushed to find answers
got down all answers eventually lol
Rushed down stairs lol
Reunited with group and walked to Jamea Mosque
lol shasha and jun yin wanted to jaywalk but jasmine caught them lol
walked to jamea mosque and took off shoes
separated from girls
listened to talk about mosque and islam while sufi was talking to me bout islam as a good religion choice and some other stuff
went to EAT from a big plate of briyanni mmm
I LOVED LUNCH
( lol why is lunch always better than dinner lol )
Played " Chilli eating contest " with sufi, royden and qinxiang
royden and qinxiang don't like chillis :)
I ate 2 big ones and a few small ones while the others wowed
sufi and the other muslim campers went to pray while we watched
Left for dragonboating :)
Sang " Vanilla Twilight " aboard the bus ( lol practice makes perfect )
Changed into shorts and put on PFDs
Since i dragonboated before, i wasn't afraid but a few of the others were like Chea Yee who didn't want to get wet or Atiqah who was also wearing contacts and didn't know if she could wear them while dragonboating
Sat next to Chea Yee on the Dragonboat and reassured her it was gonna be ok
I think our team was pretty synchronised on my side ( not sure bout the other side though )
maybe cause i had technique from previous experience ( lol most weren't J drawing properly )
Raced and splashed the other boats lol ( aaaa we got soooooo wet but it was fun)
lol, we were shouting chicken (sufi's hair) as timing
Bathe :)
i got lucky cause i was one of the last few to reach the shower so before i entered, someone in the outside booth opened up and i was lucky to get in and bathe alone in the outside cubicle :)
Got damn lot of mosquito bites...
Went back via bus to campsite
Reached before group A so we had dinner 1st
We were the serving team !!! :)
Lol i was veg and no one wanted veg :( ( eat your veggies lol )

We basically told everyone to relax, did the Bimbo cheer, then our performance and finally our group cheer ( that we took 3 days to make )
15 Mins of random dancing after the Campfire ( aww i wanted to dance with Chea Yee and Royden but they were like really exhausted and wanted to bathe )
Last Supper (lol) ( I finally took a bread YAY!!! )
Went to bathe and the group 9 guys were the only ones in the toilet cause the other groups were doing reflections ( so i had a long bath :) )
Got the Campteen Shirt from Jun Yin
Lights out was at 2 but i slept at 12 something and everyone else wasn't noisy

Day 4
Woke up at 6.45
Everyone else was still sleeping lol
Got ready and put on contacts
lol jeans again for the 3rd consecutive day
Breakfast
Packed up my heavy luggage
Me, Royden and Nick cleaned up the entire dorm until there wasn't a single piece of rubbish lol

Talked and did some group reflection with holding hands ( I was holding Wenyu and Chea Yee :) )
OK... then we took the bus back to onepeople
Loaded our stuff into a room
Did our last few activities
Lol we did the diamond dance and i realise that Qin Xiang, Royden and Sufi don't know how to dance... ( but i did lol )

Hi.
This is a really Fun Cookie Recipe that i discovered lol.
It Combines 2 of my favourite Cookies. The Meringue Cookie and The Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ingredients

( Cookies )
- 1/2 Cup Softened Butter
- 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter ( Smooth/Creamy )
- 1/2 Cup White Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 1/4 Cups Flour ( All-Purpose/Plain )
- 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
- Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

( Meringue )
- 2 Eggs
- 1/16 Teaspoon Cream Of Tartar
- 1/4 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1/3 Cup White Sugar

Steps:

1. Preheat Oven To 190 Degrees Celcius / 375 degrees Farenheit
2. Cream the Softened Butter, Peanut Butter and White and Brown Sugars together until mixed and light
3. Beat Egg with Vanilla Essence and mix in with Butter mixture until fluffy
4. Mix Flour, Salt, Baking Soda and Baking Powder together and add to cream mixture.
5. Scoop batter onto buttered / greased baking tray and stick chocolate chips into each scoop
6. Start Meringue by separating Egg Whites.
7. Combine Egg Whites, Cream Of Tartar, Vanilla Extract and White Sugar and Beat/Mix with Whisk/Electric Mixer until Extremely Light And Fluffy Meringue consistency is formed. (Peaks form)
8. Cover Each Cookie Dollop with Meringue Mixture
9. Add One more chocolate chip on top of Meringue Peak and Cover with more Meringue
10. Bake For Approximately 10 Minutes on the Third Shelf ( Variable )
11. Remove from oven and Cool
12. Dab/Spread Leftover Meringue on Cookie Tops
13. Serve and Enjoy :)

That was DELICIOUS :)

Good Morning Marists and Teachers.
Hi. I am Kieron From Maris Stella Secondary.
Today, I am supposed to you guys about why you should join Maris Stella Secondary
Well, first off, I used to be just like all of you P6s.
Yes. I was from Maris Stella Primary and I’m sure some of your teachers may remember me from the 2006 batch.
I was seated in this hall just like you were.
Looking at the big gor gor talking about the secondary school that although I was really close to, I knew nothing about.
He told stories about how his teachers inspired him, how he started off as a 222 student and rose to enter the best class
I was a little skeptical I admit but after 3 years of Maris Stella Secondary, I now fully understand.
My teachers don’t just teach for the sake of getting through another day. They don’t just click powerpoint slides or flash the OHP. ( anyway who uses that nowadays(TanGoh))
They turn every lesson into a journey. Inspiring me to learn to gain knowledge and be the best that I can be.
When I was in Primary School I was privileged to have such inspirational teachers such as Miss Chua, Huang Lao Shi and Miss Helen Ng to guide me and again in Maris Stella secondary school. I would say all the teachers are this inspirational and knowledgeable. (OMG Name Dropping)
Well, besides teachers, maris stella also provides countless opportunities for students to interact and socialize with not just other Marists and teachers but also with cute girls from other schools through CCA, Camps, Courses, Competitions and countless other activities
For example, I as a marist Scout ( I have been one since P3 (senior sixer) and continued on through Sec3 ( Thank You Miss Chang and Miss Lee ) ) have attended countless campfires in Schools like RI, Catholic High and Chij St Nicholas, Mayflower, Zhonghua and countless other schools and met Billions of new friends from all walks of life. (lol)
Also, through the NE committee, I have joined the Racial Harmony Youth Ambassadors ( RHYA ) and have met lifelong friends from many different schools and races. ( Who love to spam my facebook page) but I really do cherish them.
Also, the school provides a holistic learning program.
For example, I am taking Three Pure Sciences which is the maximum that you can take, Elementary and Additional Mathematics and I am also in the school’s debate and scrabble teams.
This shows the schools provides many opportunities for students to excel in what they are good at.
If you love Performing, well, we have the band, Chinese orchestra and drama club.
If you love sports, we have badminton, softball, bowling, basketball, table tennis, archery and lots of other CCAs
If you love Computers, we have the Media Club, The Artificial Intelligence Club and IT Club
Speaking of computers, if you join Maris Stella, you get to bring a macbook to school and learn with technology, and play DOTA ( just kidding) .
If you love a certain subject, the marist package ensures that you excel in it
Well, this talk may seem a little brainwashy ( I know you’re all thinking that ) but I really hope that you choose to continue as Marists and reap the full benefits of an excellent education and Family Spirit.

I've been really busy with loads of stuff from the overflowing plethora of activities and events that i am involved in or in charge of

Stuff i have to do

1. Youth Day Celebrations

Hahahaha
Okay so my class got soccer for our youth day booth and boy am i... mildly contented....
i'm not that excited cause i don't really have to do much on the day itself, just photography and banners
Went out with YB, KY and BW today to hunt for really cheap drinks and stuff for the stalls and BW came up with this really neat design for the banner ( way better than mine )lol

2. Scout Meetings

Ok
so
Dexufto is coming in December and we ( as "Responsible" sec 3 seniors have to make sure that the sec 1s and 2s are well-prepared for the camp.
So now our scout meetings have more variety ( whoopee ) and longer and tougher PT
Just hope none of the lower sec scouts dies lol (jkjk)
Good/Bad news - Knotting is more or less over cause the sec 1s/2s have all passed their SS knotting :)
OZY, however, seems to have taught the sec 1s/2s knotting techniques that are more complicated and different from mine and thus confused them... -_-
Sec 1s/2s please do not be brainwashed and study your logbooks diligently :)

3. RHYA

Campteen is from the 6th to 9th of November and as far as i know KY and I are the only Marists going cause BW and LXY Broke up so .... (long winded tale)
I hope that i get to meet lots of fun and enthusiastic people and the camp isn't "dead" lol

OOOOOOO Senior Camp is from the 1st to 4th of December
I am REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY Looking forward to this camp cause as anyone can tell you I LOVE RHYA!!!

Your passing was sudden and affected us all, it happened all so fast i didn't even get a chance to say goodbye...
I was praying my hardest that you would be alright, that everything would be fine, that everything would be ok...
Hoped with all my heart that i could see you again...
but i couldn't...
the last memories of you were joyous ones, when we were all together on a Saturday watching a scary movie and everyone was so happy.
I remember when you came every Saturday, sometimes swimming, sometimes playing.
We would all eat together ( pizza most of the time ) and tell jokes and watch movies.
I would play badminton and Rockband with Uqbah and Alia and laugh at Uncle Amir's jokes and play with baby Moe.
You always came through with a nice birthday present or ang pow and made me so happy.
I've known you since i was born and you were always so happy and kind and nice.
I am really going to miss you and i will keep my memories of you forever...

My Aunt is now in the ICU ( intensive care unit ) in the hospital, unconscious and hooked up to a respirator with her heart rate decreasing...
Very late at night, yesterday, she collapsed and my uncle called the ambulance.
She had been in and out of the hospital a few days prior but the H1N1 tests were negative
It seems that he administered CPR cause her heart at one point stopped...
Now, she is confirmed with H1N1 after they did a more thorough test...
I Really hope and pray that she makes it out of this alive and well...
Also, now my uncle has to be tested for H1N1 and my cousins are waiting in fear, without their parents, so please... i hope that everyone gets better and no one has to go...

Improvement & Reflections

So, recently, i realised that i have been doing better in many different aspects.
For example, i used to do badly for biology, but...i can understand better now and score :)
For Physics, i used to be lost during most of the lessons due to Miss Goh's style of teaching, but i feel that i can understand better with Mr Peh, though i still miss Miss Goh.
For Maths, we've moved on to Coordinate geometry and trigonometry that i feel so much more confident in than the earlier chapters like logarithms
Also, for my Social Studies where i used to be lost ( i still am sometimes ) but now i learned more effectively on how to do the questions and score for it :)
I have also improved in English (believe it or not) thanks to Miss Tan's good teaching, i have learnt a lot.
Thanks Teachers for packing my parachutes

Friendwise, it has it's ups and downs...
Made A LOT of new friends and some enemies(eeep)
Right now i feel more comfortable with people from Scouts, Debate and RHYA than with my classmates now.
It seems some of them don't like me, but i don't harbour any resentment towards anyone.
Sometimes, one day someone is my friend and the next day, my enemy...
I'm sorry if it's my personality that drives you to hate me but i can't change that no matter how hard i try, it is part of me... part of my being...
I need to learn to cherish my friendships more and i guess try to improve in that aspect of life :)

1st was the copper (II) Oxide Crystals that the lab tech, mr lee, who is usually VERY cranky, said were the only ones in the lab i was in that were perfect :P

i finally got a perfect pasta recipe

I tried a cream based pasta for once instead of the tomato based ones i usually did :P
and it turned out incredible
even my mom, who is a tough food critic, said it was my best pasta and could compare with restaurant pastas :P

The aromatic base i used was slightly different cause i had the parmaggianno reggianno from italy and i tried pairing that with a variety of spices and simple buttered garlic mix in a skillet
mmm
I LOVED IT
The Sauce literally melted in your mouth as the pasta enriched your tastebuds with a delicious flavour that you will crave for the rest of your meals :P

I finally got my PL rank :P ( on probation until POP though :) )
I'm paired with Jing Han as my APL ( the only sec 2 that i don't really know much about ) lol
But he's one of the only sec 2s that i find fairly Competent in what they do
( besides Zhi Ming, Huai Kang, Joseph, Zhi Jun and (Jeremy & Sylvester occasionally) )
Well at least it's a better pairing than Ashton - Jun Ming
They're like TOTAL Opposites hahahahahahahaha
but if they can learn to cooperate, i think they'll do well :P

I just got back from the scrabble tournament

We played round robin against R.I., Yuan Ching and North Brooks

1st - MSHS ( 3 wins 0 loss )
2nd - RI ( 2 Wins 1 Loss )
3rd - Yuan Ching ( 1 Win 2 Loss )
4th - North Brooks ( 0 Win 3 Loss )

I was totally undefeated :P
woohoo :P

Summary
1. Abigail - Yuan Ching
Ok, she seemed quite consistent with occasional slip-ups and she didn't challenge me.
She used a few power plays but i quickly blocked, scored and conquered.
Blocking had a very powerful effect on her moves

2. Daniel - North Brooks
He Seemed really good at the start, striking with powerful words.
But over time, he got worse and started switching and switching his tiles, giving me a chance to attack, and so i did.
Blocking made him really stressed

3.Mohammud Hafiuz - RI
Hard
But he was beatable
He remained consistently strong throughout the whole match, until the end when he tried to take more risks that caused him to lose.
My strategy always led me to stay ahead of him though
I Bluffed a lot during this match and so did he i think...
But i won yay!
Blocking caused him to act really stressed until he was groaning.

Lil - She Butchered the song, another horrible song choice from Lil.

Scott - He tried to play the electric guitar... very awkward, blind man playing electric guitar, especially since he is known for back-to-back piano performances.
That said, his guitar playing was bad and song was dull...

Kris - I am a Kris fan since he's wowed me since the top 13 started, but today was just a bit worse than usual, i thought the judges were really mean to him though...

Danny - He's really been slipping in the competition, i really hated the arrangement of the song... it was like aargh! but that said, he had excellent vocals.

Matt - Way better than last week !

Anoop - He sang a Cyndi Lauper song and wowed the audience and judges. He really made it his own and was like really good.

Allison - Dunno why people don't like her, SHE IS AWESOME cause her vocals were incredible, the judges really praised her today as well.

Adam - SIMON COWELL GAVE HIM A STANDING OVATION !!! and so did the other judges and almost the whole audience. I LOVED the song choice :P His performance gave me goosebumps, it was REALLY the best i have seen tonight by Millions of light years. I think he will win ! :P

So in summary, Lil was the worst, Scott was coasting again, Kris really dropped, Gokey Dropped too, Matt was good, Anoop was better, Allison was incredible and Adam got a standing ovation from SIMON!!!

Today, we went on our learning journey to the harmony centre to learn about Islam.

Our tour guide was really nice to us and my class was PERFECT :P:P:P

I was marking attendance before we boarded the bus and SOME PEOPLE were late so they made us worry ...eep

But in the end, everyone(mostly) was there and we left :P

Then some of the script had to be rewritten halfway cause the old boys ( specters ) had to add some stuff in like performances, songs or cheers :P
The games were good for the most part, but i wished ashton and bong just listened to me instead of putting in that sayosin song and aerosmith songs no one recognized, to used the ones i recommended like complicated,before he cheats ( Which did better ).
The newspaper dancing game was a little chaotic, cause the stage was too small.
After all the months of preparation, everything is over...
Now, i lost my voice and can't even speak, at the most just a very squeaky sound or coughing.
But it was worth it :P
Oh yeah, and my Mom video recorded most of it on our new hi-definition camcorder that cost like $2500+- that we just got :P

I'm supposed to interview someone about an aspect of NE and convert it into a story, i think narrative.
I think i'm like gonna interview my Grandfather and i hust though of a great idea of the story...
But i have to hand it in by Monday,
along with my huge pile of homework

Stupid March Holidays...

For some reason, i am getting really sick during the march holidays...
First, i fell down the stairs and injured my foot,
Then i got a bloody painful ulcer,
Then there was the stupid diarrheoa & stomach ache
Then the cough, cold thingy that spread to most of my family except for aidan
and now, i have a painful headache...

aargh!!!

got to finish job week, $7 left to collect :P
then tomorrow got to do chinese project with benedict and finish up the rest of my homework...

Guess what?
The MSHS Debating team OWNED last year's champions Yishun Town Secondary
YAY

All the points the the sparring team ( me and the other sec 3s )brought were said by the opposition, so naturally, MSHS had the advantage :P

Their speakers were really fazed by our points so we intimidated them a bit i think.

Miss Koh called the third speaker and first speakers for the opposition BIMBOs cause they fuddled up their points a lot :P
